Accent – Live Kings Head Fulham 1984

Violent Youth Records

Noted as one of the first ever casual bands out there, Accent’s life span was short, rowdy and only featured one release – the “We Are Lost” 45 in late ’84. But now, 36 years later(!), the West Londoners can finally welcome the second release in their discography in the form of the “Live Kings Head Fulham 1984” CD – let’s ave it!

Released by Violent Youth Records, this CD features a killer live set with a grand total of 13 tracks! Sure, the sound of the recording is rough, but given the fact that this recording was most likely never intended for release anyway it sounds proper, thanks to that new mastering anyway.

That being said, Accent’s set at the Kings Head pub is vibrant and quite impressive! Of course the set-list includes the two single tracks – “We Are Lost” and “The Blue Royal Line”, but it also features a ton of other great songs you now wished these lads recorded in a studio at some point such as “Enemy Of The State”, “Heavy Heart”, “You Better”, “The Plough Upon The Field” and the massive “British Soldier” – love it!

Now whether you love Mod-revival or Oi!, this little piece of history should be in your collection. Sure, the sound’s a bit rough, but the music is great and the eight-page booklet tops it off! Excellent!
