Albert Fish - Strongly Recommended

Zerowork Records

Originally released by Zerowork Records and Anti-Corpos D.I.Y. on CD in 2002, Albert Fish's debut album "Strongly Recommended" never got a proper reissue, let alone a release on LP - untill now that is! Because somewhat out of nowhere Zerowork Records released the album for the first time ever on vinyl and it's strongly recommended indeed!

Even if you already own the CD and you are 'not much of a collector', it's still worth picking the vinyl version up of this 18 year old(!) album. Bigger is just better, and that is certainly the case when you updated the artwork and remastered the whole record to make it sound even more explosive - and that is exactly what Albert Fish did!

Because despite being relatively old and the fact that it was Albert Fish's first ever release, "Strongly Recommended" still sounds great until this day! The sound floaths somewhere between punk and hardcore, but all very melodic - making it a very catchy album indeed! From sing-alongs like "Future" and "Sindelar" to the instrumental "Handfull Of Nothing", every track will get you hooked one way or another. However, my favorite track is the fast-paced finale "Turning Point" - an up-tempo slammer but thanks to the mid-paced chorus an earwurm at the same time!

Sure, just like Albert Fish's line-up (only one member of the recording line-up is left, who else than Luís Rattus) progressed over the years, but that doesn't change the fact that "Strongly Recommended" is still a short (nine tracks in 20 minutes) and extremely fun album to listen to - especially on vinyl! Speaking about the vinyl, it's single-sided and limited to just 200 copies, so you know what to do...
