All-in Brawl? Never heard of ‘em! This debut album got released by 4Subculture Records about two years ago and for all I could have known this band is from the Czech Republic just like it’s label. Good thing I do some research now and then before I write down a review because this band comes nowhere near being from the Czech Republic, as a matter of fact they’re from the other side of the world. Australia to be more precise!

With bands like Plan Of Attack, The Corps and Marching Orders it’s easy to label Australia as a great country where skinhead music comes from, but I also have a soft spot for the lesser known Australian Oi! and hardcore bands from the 90’s such as The Blurters, Forward Defence, A.V.O. and Stanley Knife. A list you can easily place All In Brawl in.

Because in both music and lyrics this band reminds me of that Snapshot Records era of bands. Not giving a shit about being political correct or not, pissed off in both vocals, lyrics and music and hard to label altough “skinhead hardcore” will fit for now. Also with covers of Negative Approach and 86 Mentality being featured on this CD it isn’t too tough to tell where this band got it’s inspiration from, though I hear back some of their fellow countrymen Forward Defence, who played some furious hatecore in the late 90’s, as well.

All in bra… I mean all in all this sounds pretty damn good. Don’t expect some overproduced record. Mean, violent, furious, that’s All In Brawl’s sound and they do a pretty good job at it. Even though this record is two years already it’s still worth picking up if you’re into 86 Mentality or any of the 90’s era Australian bands I have mentioned in this review!
