Skinhead Sounds!

 

Earlier on I’ve already reviewed the 30th anniversary edition of Klasse Kriminale’s “Costruito In Italia” EP. But there is more! Because alongside this magnificent reissue, Skinhead Sounds! also released an anniversary edition of another Italian Oi! classic – Asociale’s first (and only) single: “Novum Comum”!

 

Originally released by Havin’ A Laugh Records in 1992, 2017 marked the 25th anniversary of this crucial two-tracker by Como’s finest. Of course this needs to be celebrated in style, and just like Skinhead Sounds! did with Klasse Kriminale’s “Costruito In Italia” EP, the relatively young label does exactly that with fine quality in sound, a nice revision of the original front cover, an original back cover and an insert that contains photo’s, a discography of Asociale and front man Ivano’s later escapades and liner notes (in both English and Italian) by Skinhead Sounds!’ chief Flavio.

 

The two songs, “Niente Politica Solo Oi!” (“No Politics Just Oi!”) and “Hoxton Tom For President” obviously need no further introduction and should have been in your collection - whether it be through the original 45, the “Complete Collection” CD/LP or somewhere in your old download folder of Soulseek – a long time ago. But if for some reason they’re not, get your shit together and grab a copy while you still can!

 

Great release and collectors should take note that there is also a very limited ‘mailorder edition’ available of which just 19(!) were made. Don’t say I didn’t warn you...
