Barking Mad - Stone Age

Truckstop Toilet Records

After their extremely solid first demo “Rampge” of last year, the punx from Denver, CO - Barking Mad - are now back with their first slab of wax! Released through the band’s own Truckstop Toilet Records, the lads prove they’re still on a rampage with four brand new, Motör-ized Oi! punk anthems on their debut EP - “Stone Age”!

Now I suppose “Rampage” was a bit more up-tempo then “Stone Age” is, but if you liked the band’s demo, you will surely love this 7” as well - mark my words! Alike the demo, Barking Mad’s sounds flourishes with Motörhead worship. But not only are the influences of Lemmy and Co. more significant than ever before, they’re also better than ever before - making the Colorado boys an instant force to reckon with!

Funnily the opener of “Stone Age” - which also happens to be the title-track, is still a fast charging attack, while the remainder of the songs (“Turn Your Back”, “One Life” and “Blue Lies”) are more mid-tempo with rip roaring riffs, short but loud solos and massive back-up vocals. I love it all, but my current favorite is undoubtedly the hard rockin’ and loudly rollin’ B-side with “One Life” and “Blue Lies”- superb!

If you weren’t aware of these guys prior to this review, it’s time to get your ears open and check this release out - you won’t be disappointed by this killer debut EP of Barking Mad!
