Straight out of Fryslân, the Netherlands comes Bent Out Of Shape – an all new outfit that consists out of Dutch hardcore veterans (previously) active in the likes of Icepick, Spirit 84, No Denial and The Dead Scenestars! Now for something completely different, the Northern lads formed Oi! band B.O.O.S. – who just released its first demo through Frisian Music!

 

Kicking it off with the band’s anthem “Bent Out Of Shape”, the tone for this demo is immediately set. Pissed off, relatively fast-paced and with a straight forward, boisterous sound these guys hold back the mess and the fuss, delivering pure impact from the get-go! The result is a total of seven songs and 16+ minutes of fun and unpretentious sing-along mayhem – love it!

 

Sure, all the clichés - including drinking, fighting (the system), loyalty (or the lack of it) and football – pass by on this demo, but every track rips it up nonetheless! Favorites are “Without A Clue”, “Out On The Town”, the Drunk Injuns cover “Question Authority” and “Never Went Away”, all riotous tracks with a ultra-catchy gang vocals to yell along with loud and proud! Good stuff indeed!

 

Bent Out Of Shape’s demo is released as a professionally pressed CD, housed in a cardboard sleeve and includes a fold-out lyric sheet. Though in all honesty, I can’t imagine it will take forever for this excellent demo to be unleashed on vinyl! Time to get bent out of shape!
