I must be honest with you, it took me a while to get into Booze & Glory. For some reason I was always a bit sceptic about this band. This all changed when I heard their 4 songs on the “Oi! Ain’t Dead” compilation that got released last year. I don’t know if it was because that four way split with Old Firm Casuals, Razorblade and The Corps was such a great release in general or that the Booze & Glory tracks were so good but ever since then I became a fan.

In the band’s few years of existance they already managed to release quite some EP’s, split releases, compilation contributions and full-length albums. “London Skinhead Crew” compiles some, but not all, songs of those EP’s, splits and compilations. What you get is, in my opinion, some of their best work combined of 13 tracks onto one CD released by the legendary Step-1 Music recordlabel.

Some of my favorite Booze & Glory tracks are on here such as “London Skinhead Crew”, “England Will Never Change”, “Friends” and the whole “Back Where We Belong” EP featuring Micky Fitz of The Business fame handling the vocal duties. Every song is a sing-a-long and has a heart full of pride for their city, London, their football club, West Ham United, and friendship in general.

If you don’t want to buy a fistfull of vinyl, or you just don’t have a recordplayer in general, this is a great way to get some of the band’s best work for a cheap price, beats viewing these songs in YouTube any day. Oh yeah, and Avram Grant is a cunt!
