Ladies and gentlemen, the Boston... STRANGLER(!)  are back! Two years after their first full-length “Primitive” (Fun With Smack, 2012) the Bostonians are back with twelve bangers (plus intro) on their self-released sophomore album “Fire”!

 

Once the Boston Strangler ‘strike the match’ and lit the fuse, the shit instantly hits the fan with a full-out hardcore attack! Familiar songs (from the “Outcast” and “Joke’s On You” demo/promotional cassettes) and brand new fury from one of America’s finest ‘new’ straight edge hardcore bands follow each other up in no-time. With insane riffs and incredible tempo “Fire” rages on with no holds barred, full speed ahead hardcore like their debut “Primitive”, only bigger and better with tracks like “Fire”, “Forward To Hell”, “Outcast”, “We’ve Had It”, “Joke’s On You” and “What You Get”.

 

But unlike “Primitive” the pedal isn’t stepped on to the metal on all tracks, leaving room to bust a ‘slow jam’ here and there. Songs such as “Call To Arms”, “The Truth” slowdown in pace, while the incredible “Slow Burn” rounds “Fire” up with a stunning piano outro at the end of the proverbial ‘fuse’ making the album go out with a bang! What an incredible, and above all surprising, way to round up. Without a doubt one of my favorites tracks of “Fire” and Boston Strangler in general, love it!
