Brigata Vendetta – S/T EP

Contra Records/Rob-A-Bank Records/LSM Vinyl

Out of the ashes of Harrington Saints comes Brigata Vendetta, a brand new outfit featuring the familiar faces of Forrest, Mike and in addition the familiar voice Darrel Wojick! The band recently released its self-titled debut EP for Contra Records, LSM Vinyl and the band’s own Rob-A-Bank Records and it’s putting the pedal to the metal!

Thanks to Darrel’s significant vocals the comparison to Harrington Saints is of course easily made, but that’s also where the resemblances stop. Musically Brigata Vendetta can barely be considered Oi! or even Oi! influenced, as the lads ferociously bang through the four tracks their debut EP is rich and they’re doing it like there’s no tomorrow!

Now I have to be honest here though, I really had to get used to this hardcore-punk version of the Harrington Saints and I didn’t directly had a click with “When The World’s on Fire”, “Justice”, “I’ve Had Enough” and “Please Don’t Kill Me”. But when a record barely lasts six and a half minutes you can listen to it a lot in a relatively short amount of time and the short, fast and angry tracks fortunately grew on me with every single spin!

With that being said I fully understand you don’t want your new band to exactly sound like your old band, but still – I do hope a potential full-length will feature some slower, more mid-tempo tracks as well, just to mix things up! For now this EP, that is either available on black or oxblood red wax, is perfectly fine and definitely left me curious for what’s to come!
