Coldside - Outcasts, Thugs and Outsiders

Strength Records

In 2013 Florida’s hardcore explosion Coldside debuted with their full-length “We’ve Had Enough” for Strength Records. They had enough of pretty much everything, except, and lucky for us, making music! Because nearly two years after their debut these bulldozers are back and are about to release their sophomore album “Outcasts, Thugs And Outsiders” onto the masses!

Just like on “We’ve Had Enough” the ingredients on their newest effort are the same, a brutal mixture of New York City and Blood For Blood alike hardcore you unfortunately don’t hear that often (at least I don’t). You all know what that means right? Lyrics full of anger and hate, dual vocals, brutal riffs and gang vocals keep the mosh going on this eleven track banger! Even brothers in crime, Freddy Madball and Roger Miret, back the band up and appear on the title track “Outcasts, Thugs And Outsiders”. Mr. Miret can also be heard at the end of the record during a live version of the song “Crucified” recorded on the band’s home turf of Melbourne, Florida.

Besides the Iron-madefamousbyAgnosticFront-Cross cover, Coldside also surprises with their version of Darkbuster’s song “Skinhead” (featuring female guest vocals by Becca Krasotkin and guest vocals by Jason McKinney, don’t know if they’re in a band). An excellent and original addition to the roster of impressive own tracks such as opener “We Bring The Streets”, “Siege”, “Step The Fuck Up” and “Cold World”!

If you liked “We’ve Had Enough” you’ll definitely be in love with “Outcasts, Thugs And Outsiders”. If you never heard of Coldside before, but you like your Blood For Blood, Madball and Sheer Terror it should be about time you give these guys a spin!
