Concrete Bollocks - Disasters Of War

Contra Records

Out of Derby, Britain hails Concrete Bollocks - an all new, all grit outfit featuring Ralph of Last Crusade and Anti Social on lead-vocals! More recently the band’s debut EP “Disasters Of War” was finally released on vinyl - as it was available digital since last year’s (2019) Spring - by Contra Records, so time for a review!

Delivering four tracks, the boot boys from Derby deliver a ferocious mix of vile, fast-paced UK82 on the short tracks “Disasters Of War” and “Nowhere To Hide”. This, while the songs “Execution” and “March Together” are delivered with a dangerous, mid-paced stomp - making this a very likeable pack of lunatics whether you dress in studs and leather, boots and braces or any given combination of these four garments and accessories!

But no matter what the tempo is, Concrete Bollocks is loud, raw, in your face and cracks out one brute scorcher after another! Sounding like The Varukers’ and Combat 84’s bastard child, the thumping anthems are the soundtrack to a Saturday (night) full of chaos, violence and having a jolly good time!

Pressed on limited yellow vinyl (100 copies) and black wax (200 copies), Concrete Bollocks’ debut EP comes in a foldout sleeve, includes a sticker and has a stamped inner sleeve - though I am not sure why. What I do know is, that if you like your Oi! and punk wild and savage then “Disasters Of War” is definitely your cup of tea!
