Cuttin’ Edge – Face Down

Rebellion Records

Straight out of Edinburgh, Scotland hails Cuttin’ Edge – an all-new outfit that is about to release its first LP through Rebellion Records!

Entitled “Face Down”, the Scotsmen bring a mishmash of influences to the table. This could have gone horribly wrong, but in Cuttin’ Edge’s case it has gone perfectly right! The result is a forceful, absolute scorcher of a debut LP that delivers killer riffs, strong melodies and powerful noise altogether – I love it!

Heavily influenced by the mighty Motörhead, later The Exploited and in a lesser extent by Discharge and Anti-Nowhere League, you could easily say that Cuttin’ Edge isn’t your average Oi! band – by far. Motör-Oi!, UK’82 with a modern twist – you name it, fact is that these lads play loud, fast and in your face music that evenly deserves the attention of skins, punks and hard rockers alike – simply because there is a whole lot of something for everyone of them on “Face Down”!

Opener “Play It Loud” sums you to crank up the volume and I highly suggest that you do! Let the music take control with tracks like “False Advice”, “World Generation”, “Shit Generation”, title-track “Face Down”, “Genocide”, “Religion” and “How Do We Know”, because all of them deserve to be played with the volume wide open to let you experience how powerful this record really is – very powerful indeed!

Fans of the aforementioned bands, but also of Böhse Onkelz’ Metal Enterprises era take note, because you are going to love Cuttin’ Edge’s sound! In combination with the superb artwork by Ramon, “Face Down” is a must-have for those who like it a little louder and a little faster than everything else!
