Death Ridge Boys - Fooled Again

Moo Cow Records

2019 has been a busy year for Portland’s Death Ridge Boys. Not only did they do a North American tour with their Dutch friends of Savage Beat - including a split EP entitled “Savage Death”, the band also released two 45’s on their own, namely “(Don’t Let Them) Divide Us” and “Fooled Again”!

This review is about the latter and was released by Moo Cow Records on black vinyl. Including two songs, “Fooled Again” and “Situation”, this is a rather short and fierce single - just the way I like it! Because the shorter a release is, the more reviews I can write, right?

All kidding aside, title-track “Fooled Again” is anything but short though. Clocking in at nearly four minutes, this might just be Death Ridge Boys’ longest track to date - but a fierce one nonetheless! In the vein of their killer debut 12” “Right Side Of History”, the track is a boisterous anti-Nazi anthem and warns for the history that seems to be repeating itself - just don’t get fooled again!

Unlike the A-side, the flipside with the track “Situation” is a short one indeed! Raging on with a fast pace, the song deals with climate change and that we’ve got the tools and technology to change the course we are heading. But having it and willing to use it are two different things of course, a fucked up situation indeed and an angry song to go with it!

If you liked Death Ridge Boys’ previous releases, this 45 - limited to 300 copies (all black vinyl), including an insert and a download card - is a no-brainer!
