Denim – Skimask Justice

You like your noise raw and primitive? Look no further! Some of you die-hards might have picked this demo up on cassette earlier this year through Fuck The Mainstream We Are The Mainstream Records, but only 50 copies were made and they’re long gone by now – so there’s a good chance you are still Denim-less, until now that is! Because thanks to Contra Records and Discos Enfermos Records, the “Skimask Justice” demo is now available on glorious vinyl!

 

Since Denim’s tracks are relatively short and to the point, this three-track scorcher (that clock just over five minutes) easily fitted on one side of the 7” – while the not so groovy B-side left plenty of space for a nice little screenprint. Available on either black or white vinyl, the screeprint is (obviously) set in the opposite color – while the record itself is housed in a fold-out, black and white sleeve that fits the grit of the music perfectly!

 

As said, the sound of this masked duo (yes, Denim is a two-piece outfit – on these recordings at least) is raw, primitive and to the point – which equals to one sick, barbaric anthem, after another! “Weekends”, “Skimask Justice”, “Vienna’s Burning” – Denim delivers filthy, aggravated thrills of rough and ready punk and brickwall Oi! like there’s no tomorrow, only making you wish there were three more tracks on that B-side as well!

 

Denim rips, so time to pick “Skimask Justice” up! Definitely one of my favorite demo’s of 2020 – so give these lads a go!
