Diamond Dogs – S/T

Rebellion Records

What do you get when ex-members of classic Dutch and Belgian hardcore bands such as Mainstrike, Reaching Forward, Justice and Cornered start a new band? Exactly, raw and vile Oi! to boot! Undoubtedly the Lowland’s best kept secret (to date) when it comes down to primitive rage is Diamond Dogs who – pretty much out of nowhere – delivered a ten ton hammer of a debut EP for Rebellion Records!

Influenced by the likes of Combat 84, Iron Cross and Straw Dogs, the Dutch are out for blood with their dark, anti-social sound. Crusading against this weak, modern society with four barbaric stompers that lack catchy sing-alongs and melodic guitars, but savagely delivers earth-shattering drums, crushing riffs and hate-ridden vocals they are ready to take on the scene by storm with these thunderous anthems unsuitable for the faint of heart!

Aside the aforementioned cult-influences, fans of mid-tempo bangers by 86 Mentality and Shipwrecked, but especially the superb tunes of Hammer And The Nails, will love that dark, barbaric sound the Dogs produced on their debut EP. “The Executioner”, “Fortress Of Hate”, “Raw Visions” and “Ship Of Fools” all sound massive – to say the least – and will undoubtedly shake the foundation of wherever you will be playing this scorcher! So don’t say I didn’t warn you…

No matter how shitty a year is (musically), there’s always that first release by a brand new band that will wake you the fuck up. Diamond Dogs’ debut EP is definitely one of those releases with its eight and a half minutes of total fuckin’ mayhem, lunatics of savage, hard-hitting brutality will love! I know I do! Now fuckin’ get this...
