Dog Company – From Chosen Sides To Battle Lines

Dog Company just released a new video for “The Truth”, a crackin’ streetpunk tune taken off the band’s latest album “From Chosen Sides To Battle Lines” - released late 2021 on Contra Records and Boulevard Trash. Now I actually wanted to ‘just’ dedicate a Facebook post to that video, saying that the album in question was fairly brilliant and that I had every intention to review the LP, but that I unfortunately never got to it…

 

But then I thought, if these guys are still releasing a video for an album that is nearly a year old already, I bet they wouldn’t mind me writing some nice words about this slab of wax as well! Because despite that I never got to my review – until now obviously – I sure as hell gave “From Chosen Sides To Battle Lines” a good amount of spins throughout the year!

 

And for good reasons. Sure, the recipe is somewhat the same as the band’s previous efforts, but nonetheless Dog Company’s ultra catchy and melodic streetpunk anthems sound better and more vital than ever before! Besides the music, it’s Joe Russell’s significant vocals that sound as snappy as always, rousing like a fresh whirlwind from opener “Working Man’s Blues” all the way to the final track on the flipside “Story Untold”, for a tracklist of twelve highly addictive tunes total!

 

Fans know what to expect and those who have a turntable most likely own a copy of “From Chosen Sides To Battle Lines” already. But for those who don’t or are not familiar with Dog Company just yet but that are into melodic streetrock ‘n’ roll, check out that aforementioned video on the left of this page and get hooked! “From Chosen Sides To Battle Lines” is only released on vinyl and comes on either black (100 copies), yellow (200 copies) or red/black marbled (200 copies) wax.
