East End Badoes – A Punk Rock Sound With An East End Beat

Step-1 Music

East London’s finest – the East End Badoes – are back! This time around the boys bring their Poplar stomp in the form of the band’s debut album “A Punk Rock Sound With An East End Beat” - 36 years after East End Badoes’ first contribution to the “Back On The Streets” compilation! Who would have thought?

Now we already know that the Badoes can write a cracking tune or two, but with this album the Londoners prove they can write a whole lot more! Excluding the intro, the re-recordings of “Poplar Boys” and “Where Have All The Dockers Gone?” (both not included on the LP version – unfortunately!) and the cover “The Prisoner” (originally by The Clash), the lads deliver ten all new hits for herberts – and they sound great!

With the East End Badoes’ typical sound and front man Terry Hayes’ significant voice, “A Punk Rock Sound With An East End Beat” is a must for anyone into the previous misconducts of these troublemakers, The London Diehards or that classic British Oi! and punk sound in general! Ready to ruck, the Badoes kick out one raucous rocker after another, making you sing-along all day long! Favorites are: “I Wanna Be Me”, “Another Town”, “Forever”, “Raped, Beaten, Betrayed”, “Trouble On The Streets” and “London Boy”.

As said, it’s unfortunate the LP version has ‘only’ 12 tracks – especially since I got that one, and the CD version has all 14 of ‘em, but nonetheless this is a must-have for those who like their punk rock with an east end beat! Now, go and ‘ave it!
