Featuring veterans of the European Oi! and punk scene, the Faceless Offenders are a brand new ‘mystery band’ on Contra Records. I honestly don’t have a clue who are in the band - though I wouldn’t tell if I did know - and it hurts my fuckin’ brain trying to figure out who these faceless delinquents are. Anyway, it is what it is and perhaps it will remain a secret forever, fortunately the music isn’t as classified with the release of the band’s debut EP “We Don’t Pose”!

 

Because holy shit, the four anthems on this 7” are killing it! You can hear that they’re veterans (if that is true of course) and that they’re just doing it for a laugh, because it reflects on the music that is filled with power and energy, while all bits and pieces are in the right place. The lyrics are a real joy to listen to as well. They’re fun, sarcastic and sometimes just plain hateful (damn those fuckin’ hippie punks and posers!) and they don’t beat about the bush on “Destroyed”, “We Don’t Pose”, “Our Way” and my favorite “Die In Style”, with its lyric mainly consisting out of crucial song –and album titles – classic!

Now let’s hope this is not a one-time thing and that these vets will carry on this studio-project because this debut contains nothing but excellent tunes! ‘Skinhead! Boot Boys! No politics, just Oi!...’ – but some very good Oi! indeed!
