Fool’s Errand - Another Round Of Disappointments By...

Self-released

After its self-released, self-titled debut EP earlier in 2019, Las Vegas’ very own one man army Fool’s Errand is back! Self-released again, musical all-rounder Pete is bringing you ‘another round of disappointments’, though the real - and only - disappoint is that I never got a hold of a physical copy of that self-released, self-titled debut EP! But you know what they say, you can’t have it all...

Therefor I am grateful Pete has send me a copy of his latest EP “Another Round Of Disappointments By...”, especially if you keep in mind that he only produced 50 copies of this record! Sure, I provide something in return (some publicity and this review for example), but you don’t really need that to move 50 copies of a record. Unless you think bigger of course, like making Fool’s Errand a ‘real’ band with actual members that releases full productions on a variety of labels from around the globe - that makes sense. All I can say is that I hope my posts and this review can help in any way possible - because I love everything I have heard of Fool’s Errand so far!

Also this EP is an absolute scorcher, making it absolutely anything but a disappointment! Both lyrically and musically Fool’s Errand is top notch, making you wonder about the potential this project would have it was a full-blown band! The smart, narrative lyrics in combination with the raw, boot stompin’ - yet well thought out - sound, make Fool’s Errand a must for fans of rough and ready streetrock ‘n’ roll! Opener “Digging Graves” is sublime (with that organ) and definitely my favorite, though the fast-paced savagery of “New Fight” and the hard-hitting “Better Off” (featuring Johnny O of Lower Class Brats and Cheap Sex, just to name a few) are highly appreciated as well! Damn...

Now as I wrote earlier, only 50 copies of “Another Round Of Disappointments By...” were produced, so if you want to pursue a copy - you got to act fast, because once they’re gone... they’re gone! With that being said, it’s obviously impossible to press just 50 copies on vinyl, making this a release on a lathe cut record - though I sure as hell hope a release on some ‘real’ wax will come out sooner than later! Killer!
