Foreign Legion - Always Working Class

Laketown Records

Originally released on CD four years ago through Aggrobeat Records, Foreign Legion’s “Always Working Class” finally sees the light of day on vinyl! Released by Germany’s Laketown Records, the band’s fifth full-length is now available on yellow vinyl (320 copies) and a limited amount of copies on black wax (210 copies) and delivers a total of thirteen working class anthems!

And yes, all you mathematicians are right - that is indeed one more track than the original release of 2006 held. Because aside of the fact that everything looks bigger and better when released on vinyl (especially Gus Payne’s cover artwork), the addition of bonus track “On The Piss Again” is another significant difference in comparison to the CD release. A nice belter that, despite the reggae intermezzo, quickly became one of my favorites! Why wasn’t this on the CD again?

But not just everything looks bigger and better when released on vinyl, everything sounds bigger and better as well! In my review of the original release I wrote that the mastering could have been thicker and despite that this still stands, it didn’t bother me this time around and I fairly enjoyed exploring “Always Working Class” once again with classic sounding tracks like “Nowhere Left To Hide”, “Drugs For Mugs”, “Justice”, “Nev’s Birthday Bash”, “This Is Our Music” and “Still No Punks In My Town”! But with that being said, as soon as the original tracklist is over and the bonus-track kicks in - you can definitely hear that the latter is louder and fuller than the twelve previous songs. I guess I wasn’t completely wrong after all...

Still a great record and definitely a worthwhile edition on vinyl though! So if you haven’t gotten yourself a copy and you’re into Major Accident, The Adicts etc..., you definitely want to check this old firm that has been going at it since 1984 and “Always Working Class” out!
