Frontline Soldiers - Oath Of Loyalty

United Riot Records

Right after the Sick Society review there is another lesson in the history of New York City skinhead music and yet again released by United Riot Records. This time it involved New York Oi! band Frontline Soldiers that both started and ended their band in the early ‘00’s. Until this “Oath Of Loyalty” EP Frontline Soldiers only appeared on one CD, the “Streets Of America” compilation, also released by United Riot Records in the year 2004.

First of all, what I absolutly love about this release is the fantastic artwork on the sleeve of this 7”. Artwork is not usually the reason to buy a record, maybe sometimes, but the music on this piece of wax ain’t too bad either! This record originally got released in 2011 but recently United Riot Records pressed 100 more of these bad boys on transpartant red vinyl, so if you missed out the first time (like me) here is your second, and last, chance to get one of these and it’s worth it!

Because what you get is five powerful, patriotic and not so political correct Oi! scorchers from the Big Apple which leaves you with that typical NYC Oi! sound with influences by bands such as Oxblood, Skin Disorder and First Strike. I really like those bands, so Frontline Soldiers is no exception to this list and with great songs like “American Boot Squad”, “Warrior Rising” and “Frontline Soldiers” it’s a shame these guys weren’t around any longer to unleash some more of their fury amongst us Oi! fans.

Too bad, because this EP kicks ass! Get this while you still can!
