Formed in 2013 and now early 2014 you see your debut album getting released by Rebellion Records and Longshot Music. There are worst ways to start your musical ‘career’, but not for St. Louis streetpunk outfit Hard Evidence and their debut album “Last One Standing”, which will hit the streets in a couple of weeks (end of January 2014), not even a year after the bands formation.
Doing a release like that can be tricky, especially if you’re band is not that known in the scene yet. Releasing a EP would be the first thing that would come to my mind, but that would be a shame in Hard Evidence’s case. Because despite the fact that Hard Evidence still has to make a name for themselves as a band, the band’s sound is already solid as a rock and the eight tracks that are featured on “Last One Standing” just had to get a proper release on vinyl!
Because every track on this 12” is a high quality mixture of American streetpunk and British Oi! music and it sounds fantastic! There’s room for tons of melody, great guitar riffs and catchy sing-a-longs which make “Last One Standing” a record that can easily be loved by fans of bands such as The Brassknuckle Boys, The Crack, Cock Sparrer or Noi!se, not too shabby! Especially when you realize these are “just” the first recordings by Hard Evidence!
I can imagine me, you and anyone else who’s into top of the crop streetpunk are going to enjoy this band for many years to come (if they stay together of course!) so I hope “Last One Standing” is just the tip of the iceberg with many great releases in the future to come. For now I’ll settle with this awesome debut!
