Horda – Tolerância Zero

Combate Brutal

If you would ask me to name some of my favorite Oi! releases of 2022 (so far), I will most definitely mention Horda’s first LP “Tolerância Zero” sooner than later! Because where 2020’s debut single “LXSH” impressed, it’s 2022’s full-length that knocks you out of your fuckin’ boots – and not just musically!

Since this is a Combate Brutal release, you know that the record and packaging is tip top from the front to the back and from start to finish! Of course its limited to 200 copies total and despite that all 200 records come on black vinyl, there are two versions – of 100 copies each – nonetheless. Either available with a golden cover (and a black inner sleeve) or a black cover (and a golden inner sleeve), all versions look beautiful and high-end with a glossy, hand numbered sleeve (with red flood inside), a lyric sheet and a massive poster with the amazing cover artwork of Eis! - love it!

And then there’s the music. As stated earlier “Tolerância Zero” is an absolute knock-out, delivering ten barbaric tracks at 45 revolutions per minute for maximum power! And power is what you get! Because if you keep in mind that Horda is just a two-men project, it’s pretty insane that the duo that consists out of Rattus (Facção Opposta, Atlantes, Albert Fish, Crise Total and a dozen other bands) and João (Falcata) created such a colossal wall of sound that will stand its ground all day long Horda delivers hit after hit with massive tracks like “Duro”, “Inimigo”, “Guerra Nas Bancadas”, “Tolerância Zero”, “Violência” and “Skinheads” that sound tough to the boot, and have this dark and threatening feel to them to which I can listen to all. day. long.

And just when you – the reader – thought it couldn’t get any better, the Portuguese duo spiced things up and made the remaining four tracks – namely “Lado A Lado”, “Ergam Os Copos”, “Pisando Forte”, “Nunca Foste” - even saxier with the addition of some brass! Fairly brilliant to say the least, making it an absolute must-have and undoubtedly an album of the year contender! Boom!
