Straight from the capital of Australia comes Loose Cannon, an all new outfit with familiar faces from Eye-Gouge!, All In Brawl, Shock Treatment and probably more! After an online promo earlier this year through Bandcamp, the Canberra lads are about to unleash their first feat of arms on vinyl and it’s an absolute banger from start to finish!

 

Set to be released by Lionheart Records – who also handled the vinyl release of All In Brawl’s one and only album back in 2014 – this powerhouse comes on a 12” slab of wax with all nine songs and an outro pressed on just one side! Making sure it’s fast and violent, these raging ten tracks don’t even make the ten and a half minute mark! And the best part of it all? It’s fast and violent noise… Canberra style!

 

Now it’s not like I have a long list of references, but one of my favorite hardcore bands from Down Under has always been Forward Defence. Active in the late 90’s, this band raged through their songs like there was no tomorrow and 25 years later Loose Cannon comes ripping through their tracklist like a modern day Forward Defence! With a vile, negative mental attitude the Canberra lads deliver some hateful hardcore savagery both brute and more than often with a great sense of humor, as showcased on a track such as “You’re Not A Viking” - love it!

 

Limited as always, all regular copies of this release come on black vinyl for a grand total of 214 copies. With that being said, the twist this time around are the two different frontcovers that were printed with either artwork by Andy Fletcher or artwork by Konstantyn Kopacz (Warhead Art). Divided over respectively 139 and 75 copies you can’t go wrong either way to be honest, both look sick as fuck! Just like the music is sick as fuck! So fans of the likes of Prisoner Abuse, Chain Rank and Boston Strangler take note, because this is an absolute must!
