Lost Legion – Bridging Electricity

LSM Vinyl/Try And Stop Me Records

It’s been a while, but Lost Legion is back! Several years after the band’s “Auto Produktion” cassette (2016) and the “Getting Old” lathe cut from 2018 (which was actually 2015’s “2 Oz. Taster” demo), the Chicago outfit has returned with an all new EP for LSM Vinyl and Try And Stop Me Records! Titled “Bridging Electricity”, this EP is actually one of my favorite releases of 2022 – though I nearly forgot about it!

The reason for this is that this single-sided 10” was initially released by LSM Vinyl earlier this year and only a measly 150 copies were pressed. Now I know Lost Legion’s previous releases had fairly low pressing numbers as well (only 40 copies of the aforementioned lathe cut exist, though I actually own two of those – so get in touch if you want to do a trade), but finding a copy of “Bridging Electricity” seemed nearly impossible. Luckily a second press followed quickly, Try And Stop Me Records jumped onboard to serve us Europeans and 300 more copies were pressed – all for good reasons of course!

Now it’s a fact that Lost Legion only released a handful of songs in the past five or six years, but I loved every single one of them! These guys produce a sound that is very familiar, though it always comes with this unique little twist that intrigues me! I can’t really put my finger on with this twist is, but I do know that once I start listening to these guys there’s no turning back – and this is most certainly the case with “Bridging Electricity”, undoubtedly the band’s best work to date!

Whether it be the band’s two original tracks - “The Game” or the fairly brilliant title-track “Bridging Electricity” - or that superb Go-Go’s cover of “Tonite” (featuring Christine of The Manhandlers, Daylight Robbery and Primitive Teeth), Lost Legion delivers pure fire from start to finish! Pressed on a beautiful slab of clear wax with an electrifying (silk screened) B-side, this 10” is an absolute must-have that should be in your record collection! So let’s sell out these 300 copies as well!
