Nagön - Repulsive & Deadly E.P.

Contra Records

Who rules Eastern Europe commands the Heartland... and that is exactly what the Serbs of Nagön accomplished with their debut EP “Repulsive & Deadly”! They rule, command and conquer with their barbaric street rock ‘n’ roll that was previously only available on cassette (a self-released version, 100 copies and on Street Rock Music, 40 copies), but now available on vinyl - thanks to Contra Records!

Repulsive to some while deadly for most, the self-proclaimed Barbarian Horde rages through four vicious stompers, delivering a sound that I absolutely love! Raw, mean, unpolished and nearly lo-fi, the lads from Nagön crank out some true grit with “Drowning (We Are)”, “We’ll Get There”, “Above The Rivers” and - if they already knew the German label would pick them up - “Contra!” - pure madness from start to finish, sick!

It wasn’t a matter of course though that these mad men from Belgrade would be released by Contra Records, as the label’s logo is attached on the sleeve with a small sticker - but I’m glad they did! Mental music like this deserves some proper distribution and a superb crew to back things up - and that is exactly what the label is doing - so thank you!

If you don’t like tapes or missed out on the two cassette versions (like I did), I highly suggest picking up this raucous slab of wax if you like your music violent, rough and primitive - the Barbaric way! “Repulsive & Deadly” comes on limited black vinyl (100 copies) and baby blue vinyl with black and kind of a rusty splatter (200 copies), a lyric sheet, some superb artwork and a download card that gives access to the fifth, massive track “Man In The Mirror”! Killer!
