No Resistance - Nova Methodus
Last year No Resistance debuted for Rebellion Records with an excellent collection of re-recorded band –and fan favorites on the “V.I.T.R.I.O.L” 12”. A great release, since it brought six out of the eight tracks for the first time ever on vinyl, that proved that No Resistance are without a doubt one of Houston’s (TX) finest! A true force to be reckoned with, especially after hearing the band’s brand new 10” album “Nova Methodus”!
“Nova Methodus” brings four brand new tracks, delivering a perfect mix of Oi!, punk and hard glam. Incredibly catchy hooks, addictive sing-alongs, piano’s and handclaps... these bulls, and byrd, know how to put a smile on my face with some amazing songwriting! Whether it be the upbeat “Let’s Hear It” or the intimate “In The Morning”, a song with a leading role for the piano, No Resistance nails it from start to finish making me want to hear “Nova Methodus” over and over again!
“The writings on the wall, it spells out ‘V.I.T.R.I.O.L’. We were shouting, because you didn’t seem to get the call...” vocalist / bassist Scott sings in the opening track “Downtown” and honestly, if you still ‘don’t get the call’ after hearing “Nova Methodus” I don’t know what will! My only problem with this 10” is that there are just four songs on it and they definitely leave me craving for more! Superb record with, once again, fantastic artwork by Barcelona’s ‘up setter’ Ramon!
