Best new American streetpunk band? Still not 100% sure. I do know fors ure that when I heard their 10” ‘This Is Who We Are’ for the first time it blew me away! A piece of wax filled with all killer, and just one filler (a cover from Cock Sparrer’s ‘Take ‘Em All’). So I was pretty fuckin’ excited when ‘Rising Tide’ got announced around the middle (?) of 2012.
Not just excited because of a new Noi!se release, but ‘Rising Tide’ also ment the relaunch of GMM Records (together with the re-release of the Anti-Heroes classic ‘Underneath The Underground’) and it’s release being pressed in very limited quanteties of different coloured vinyl (in coorperation with Germany’s Contra Records).
At first I was dissapointed when I ripped this album out of the parcel. Not because of the music, but mainly because of the fact that ‘Rising Tide’ was advertised as a full-length album only to find out it containt just 7 tracks of which 2 are re-recorded versions of previous released songs (‘Blame’ and ‘Brothers In Arms’) and ‘On The Outside’ is stripped down on this 12” as an acoustic version. But after a while dissapointment took place for excitment again because this band is just too damn good to be ‘mad’ at.
Every song is a anthem on it’s own with amazing lyrics, fantastic and catchy riffs and the great use of dual vocals make me only want to beg for more, more, more! From what I have heard the band is already working on a brand new record for which I can’t wait! Best new American streetpunk band? Yeah, maybe I am 100% sure now.
