On The Rampage – Feelgood Stories... In Disguise

Comandante Records / Sunny Bastards

Keeping in mind that this review is about the band’s first feat of arms, On The Rampage is still a relatively new band with its formation dating back to 2017. But with that being said, the lads in this Dutch-Belgian outfit are most certainly no strangers to the scene! With familiar faces from both Tech-9 and Evil Conduct in its ranks, On The Rampage’s members have earned their stripes over the years – something you hear back on the band’s debut album “Feelgood Stories... In Disguise”!

Despite that half of its members were active in streetcore outfit Tech-9, On The Rampage’s sound definitely leans more to Evil Conduct’s side than anything else. Not just musically, but vocally as well. Not a bad thing though, because above all these rousers play raucous, traditional styled Oi! that is heavily bass driven’ and holds small hints of melodic streetpunk to top things off – very nice indeed!

For that matter the album could have been called “Feelgood Music... In Disguise” as well. Sure, songs like “Where’s The Enemy”, “The Reason Why”, “Feel The Beat”, “Backfire Bound”, “Fly The Flag” and “Heading For A Fall” sound rough and rowdy, but they make you feel good and eager to sing-along to at the same time as well. Because despite its raw edge, “Feelgood Stories... In Disguise” is pretty damn catchy as well!

All in all a pretty solid debut that comes on a variety of killer, one of a kind colored vinyl and CD that is OUT NOW on Comandante Records (Brazil) and Sunny Bastards (Germany)!
