Paris Violence - Renaître En Décembre

Islika Produktions

Originally released in 2015, the demo’s on Paris Violence’s “Renaître En Décembre” were originally recorded in 1998 and 1999 and would be the foundation for the band’s follow-up album to “Temps De Crise” - “Mourir En Novembre”. As 2015’s release was limited to just 50 copies, the band just released a ‘réédition’ in honor of the band’s 25th anniversary, strictly limited to another 100 copies!

Now Paris Violence’s extensive discography of demo’s, original releases, reissues and compilations can sometimes feel like a puzzle of a 1.000 pieces. Yet “Mourir En Novembre” is undoubtedly one of the band’s more popular albums, thanks to a high circulation-rate (1.500 CD’s - divided over two pressings - and 500 LP’s), making the demo’s on “Renaître En Décembre” a feast of recognition!

Because if you are a Paris Violence fan you must have heard songs like “Tolbiac”, “Grandeur Et Décadence”, “Budapest 56”, “Grisaille” and “Terminus Pigalle” many, many times before. Yet I still can’t get enough of those superb melodies, especially in combination with the rawer, alternate sound of these demo’s - fairly brilliant to say the least!

“Renaître En Décembre” holds a total of thirteen tracks, though it includes respectively two and three versions of the songs “Grandeur Et Décadence” and “Terminus Pigalle” and comes with an eight-page booklet including some history on the recordings and release (though all in French), lyrics to “Char D’Assaut” and “Skin De Paris” (the two tracks that didn’t appear on “Mourir En Novembre”) and some photographs. As said, it’s limited to just 100 copies - so you know what to do. Love it!

(Album version of "Tolbiac", NOT the demo version of this release!)
