Pink Panzer - Manthunder

Chapter Eleven Records

In 2004 The Beltones guitarist and lead singer Bill McFadden started a little side-project called Pink Panzer and released a demo in the same year. I have no clue if this was ev...er released on tape, CD-R or that it was just a digital release, but now 10 years later two of those eight demo songs wind up on vinyl for the first time on the “Manthunder” EP released by Chapter 11 Records.

I don’t believe the songs, “Manthunder” and “Stick In The Mud”, have been re-recorded for this record. If I compare them to the demo they sound exactly the same to me in both sound and quality (maybe someone else on here can tell me?), but do I mind? Hell no! These tracks needed to be released on vinyl badly and Chapter 11 gave this 45 the VIP treatment with a super limited pressing of 50 copies (clear vinyl with ‘man sauce’ splatter, hand painted cover and a button set), a limited pressing of 100 copies (hot pink vinyl with black splatter, button set, embroided patch) and 400 copies on regular hot pink vinyl.

As you might have known by now, Pink Panzer is a 100% ’77-punk/Skrewdriver worship/parody band with a homoerotic touch. So don’t take this too seriously, the band aren’t “fucking fags” (maybe it’s time for you to stop being so homophobic) and Bill isn’t a gay Aryan skinhead (maybe it’s time for you to stop being so political correct, what part of ‘parody’ don’t you understand), it’s all fun and games people! Hilarious lyrics that happen to be backed by brilliant musicianship and songs where other Skrewdriver copycats, that take themselves way too seriously, can only dream of. Two amazing songs that could have easily been on any Skrewdriver release from the 1977-1982 era, if Elton John wrote the lyrics that is.

So “if you are only in it for the music”, then you need to check this EP out, you will love it! People that aren’t so butthurt (no pun intended) already know what’s up and have this 7” in their collection or got their order in somewhere (I got the super limited pressing as a gift, but had the regular version ordered). While The Beltones are fan-fuckin’-tastic, this is some of Bill McFadden’s best work ever, I guess that says enough!
