This EP is out for a few months already, but I decided to do a little review of it anyway. Just like their '05 debut album 'Minimum Wage' this 7" got released on Rebellion Records. 'Gunpowder For The Dogs' is part of Rebellion's 7" Collector's Series and after Razorblade, Badlands, Razorcut and Bootstroke, The Pug Ugies are number 5 in this serie (in the meantime number 6 is released recently from German band 7er Jungs).
What you get are 4 tracks recorded a while after 'Minimum Wage' was out but never got released due to the band splitting up. The year these tracks got recorded isn't mentioned on the sleeve, but my guess is these songs got recorded 5 or 6 years ago. Altough Rebellion mentioned that people still frequently ask about this band it's still a risk to do a release from a band that isn't active enough (a few shows still get played each year) to promote their own release. So thumbs up for both label and band for this release, because it would have been a shame if these songs remained on a shelf to never see the light of day.
If you want this you better act quick, the 7" Collectors Series pressings are strictly limited and wont get any represses. 'Gunpowder For The Dogs' is limited to 330 copies on black vinyl.
