RIXE is a brand new Oi! outfit from the gritty streets of Paris, France and consists of members of other Paris’ Oi! and hardcore bands such as Lion’s Law, Hard X Times, The Sultans and Youth Avoiders. Recently the band released their debut EP “Coups Et Blessures” for London based label La Vida Es Un Mus and already it’s a classic in the rough!

 

Just like fellow countrymen Traitre and Syndrome 81, RIXE have a very raw 80’s inspired sound that immediately reminds of the first wave of French Oi! and punk glory days of decades ago! No high-end production and no fancy gimmicks, just pure-impact through energetic, up-beat Oi! songs with an authentic sound! And best of all, “Coups Et Blessures” is completely ‘en Française’! Just like the earlier mentioned bands in this paragraph, as well as pretty much every band from way back then and just the way I like it!

 

Just like the songs, “Razzia”, “Infatigables” (“The Tireless”), “Larmes De Crocodile” (“Crocodile Tears”) and “Coups & Blessures” (“Hits & Injuries”), that come blasting out of your speakers at 45 ‘tours’ a minute, the whole look of the 7” has a sense of authenticity as well. With the thin sleeve, photocopied lyric sheet and it’s big center hole in the black wax, the “Coups & Blessures” 45 is raw and pure in both its presentation and sound. Absolute killer 7” from Paris' underground!
