Rogue Trooper - Class Decline

Rebellion Records

After a sick, self-released demo (2015) and the killer “Boots On The Ground” EP on Foreign Legion Records (2016), a next release by one of America’s finer new bands – Rogue Trooper – was very much anticipated! Now, two years after the latter was released, the Massachusetts troopers are back with their first ever LP for Rebellion Records, instantly delivering one of my favorite albums of 2018!

Entitled “Class Decline”, Rogue Trooper’s debut LP features seven all new songs and a re-recorded version of demo-favorite “Army Of One”. Now the band’s demo and aforementioned EP were already fantastic releases, but “Class Decline” exceeds both in every way possible, easily making this their best work to date!

It remains bromide to say, but when it’s true – it’s true, so why beat around the bush? Delivering a sound that can hardly be compared to any other band out there, these guys will blow you away with smart lyrics, a thought out sound and catchy, boisterous anthems that are definitely in a league of their own! From the short, fast-paced opener “The Squeeze” and brilliant title-track “Class Decline” to the anthemic “Structural Steel” and “Rebel Without A Job”, this band has it all and though still relatively unknown – I can’t imagine this won’t change anytime soon with this brilliant LP!

Because everything, from the sound to the superb artwork on the front –and back cover, is perfection for both ears and eyes! If “Class Decline” isn’t a future classic, I don’t know what will be! Simply one of the best (American) Oi! records you will hear this year, so don’t sleep on this bad boy! Brilliant!
