Schizoid - You’re To Blame

Straight out of Bost... Nantes, France comes Schizoid - a brand new, brickwall hardcore outfit who recently released their debut cassette “You’re To Blame” on Straight & Alert Records! Now I refer to the band in plural - as a band usually has multiple members, but not Schizoid! Schizoid is Alexis and Alexis only, who you might know of his previous efforts in bands such as Raw Justice, Harm Done and of course Straight & Alert Records.

 

Massively influenced by the likes of No Tolerance, Boston Strangler and Prisoner Abuse, Alexis is ripping through the five tracks on this tape like there is no tomorrow! It’s fast, raw and ferocious - instantly making you wish this was a full on band, as tracks like “Deadbeat”, “Who’s To Blame” or “Not Sorry” would tear any small venue apart! Powerful madness indeed and given Alexis did this whole release himself (writing, performing, recording, mixing, mastering, artwork, layout and releasing it - woah!) very praiseworthy to say the least!

 

The first run of 100 cassettes (evenly divided over 50 black and 50 white cassettes, black and white cover) sold out quick, but recently Alexis did a second run of another 150 cassettes (evenly divided over 75 red and 75 white cassettes, red and white cover as pictured in this review) that is still available and highly recommendable if you like your noise fast and violent!
