Founded in 2015, the Uppsala savages of Östra Aros debuted in 2017 with the 12” mini-LP “Upsala” for Riktig Punk & Oi! Records, better known as RPO. Now, another two years later, the Swedes unleashed their first, self-titled, full-length album for Switchlight Records and RPO Records, holding a grand total of twelve thunderous anthems!

 

With vocalist Fredrik, Östra Aros consists just out of one skinhead, while its remaining members have - slightly - longer hair. But don’t let appearances fool you though, because what this band delivers is pure dynamite from start to finish! They did so on their debut 12” from 2017 and they keep on marching on, causing pure rampage with this self-titled LP - which is a killer slab of wax in case you couldn’t make this up out of my words just yet!

 

Mixing crude Oi! with raw rock ‘n’ roll and killer, hard rockin’ riffs, Östra Aros could easily perform for 150 short cropped hooligans, just as they could perform for 150 outlaws of your local MC! Maybe a bit similar like Italian outfit F.A.V.L., though musically the lads of Östra Aros show more similarities to fellow countrymen Sabotage. Not just because both sing in their native tongue - which I prefer most of the time when it comes down to Swedish bands, but also when it comes down to the clean guitars, the aggressive beat and that driving, rockin’ force both bands share. Love it!

 

A perfect example is the second track “UA Skins”, a total barn burner with barbaric vocals, superb melodies and a boisterous chorus - a killer track through and through! But in all honesty, this record contains eleven more killer tracks, because with earth-scorching anthems like “Ärrad Själ”, “Pedofil”, “Raka Rör”, “Sveriges Stolthet”, “Du Är Död För Mig” and “Frihetshymn” this is pure fire and an absolute must for fans of Sabotage - as mentioned above -, Perkele’s first two releases, The Clockwork Crew and Grebol - just to name a few Swedish bands!

 

Limited to just 300 copies, all on black wax, the vinyl comes in a beautiful looking, glossy sleeve and ditto printed inner sleeve - just to make sure you get the full-package! Get this, now!
