The Analogs – Wilk

Oldschool Records / Lou & Rocked Boys

One of Poland’s longest running and most active streetpunk bands The Analogs are back... again! Because after two split releases (a LP with Farben Lehre and an EP with Prawda, both on Lou & Rocked Boys) and an English EP for Contra Records, the lads from Eastern-Europe are back with a brand new full-length for Oldschool Records – “Wilk”!

I’ve had a soft spot for Polish bands ever since I started to buy cassettes in the second half of the 90’s. I had no clue what I was buying, I didn’t understand a single word of them (I still don’t) and I never knew if they would actually arrive or not, but the fact that they were cheap, exotic and a good way to learn about new music always had the overhand – and through this way I discovered The Analogs as well with their “Oi Młodzież” tape on Rock’n’Roller. Great vocals, great melodies, great tunes...

Now, more than 20 releases and 20 years later (“Oi Młodzież” originally came out in 1996), The Analogs’ streetpunk still rulez(!) and not much has changed. I mean this in a positive way, because the vocals are still great... the melodies are still great... and the song-writing is still great as well! A catchy anthem never gets out of style, and on “Wilk” The Analogs produced plenty of them! From opener “Kiedy Byles Dzieckiem” to “Straz Miejska” – the Poles keep up the quality, while I can’t complain about the quantity (eleven tracks total) either!

Therefor “Wilk” is an absolute no-brainer for fans of The Analogs. You know what you get, but what you get and unlike their last three full-length albums, this one is available on vinyl as well! The Analogs rulez!
