The Angry Agenda - Society
Randale Records
Finally, the longawaited (for me at least) new album from the angriest, grumpiest old men out of Watford, UK is out. Since playing their last album, "Here Comes Trouble" to death, I had to pick this CD up at the Rebellion festival in Blackpool, cause I simply couldn't wait another two months for the vinyl.
Firstly, "Society" delivers on all levels. With one foot planted firmly in Motörhead\Rose Tattoo country and the other in 79-84 British Streetpunk, they take you through a gritty journey through the hell that present day Britain seems to be for the working class. While their first album stuck to a red line musically, "Society" shows the band has clearly evolved in their songwriting. From the rock'n'roll soon to be a worldwide recognized streetpunk anthem "Boot Boy", to the epic and catchy as SHIT
"What Have They Done to Our England", to the Mod-revivalish "It's Allright" and the acoustic "Raise Your Glass", this album is packed with emotions, anger certainly not the only one. This album is filled with passion all the way, and alot of that is owned to Nick, the singer, who in my not-so-humble opinion is probably the best singer this
scene has seen (heard) since Cock Sparrer's Colin McFaull. I'd happily give a leg to be able to sing like this.
Can't wait for the next chapter, and I hope these guys will be around for years to come, and if this band isn't properly recognized as one of the best bands this huge scene has to offer within the next few years, I'm fucking done.
