The Buzzers – S/T
Try And Stop Me Records/LSM Vinyl
When your band is from Vancouver, Canada the odds of a Mike in your line-up are extremely high. Whether it be Mike Underwood (The Choice Few, Off The Clock, Split Arrows), Mike Josephson (Subway Thugs, Alternate Action, Emergency) or both (No Heart), you’re always in for a treat! After several line-up changes the latter Mike joined The Buzzers in its ranks, which undoubtedly accelerated the release of the band’s first physical 45 I am introducing to you as we speak!
Released by Mike’s own LSM Vinyl (North America) and Try And Stop Me Records (Europe), The Buzzers’ debut single features two tracks in the form of “Behind” and the all new stomper “Incoming”. Now if you’ve been following the band’s Bandcamp page for a while, or if you happen to own a copy of the fantastic “British Columbia Bovver” compilation (Rebellion Records, Last Years Youth), you already got a taste of side A’s “Behind”. The track first appeared online late 2020 as part of the “Cutting It Close” release and later on in the summer of 2022 on the aforementioned compilation LP. Of course it already sounded great when it was still a little diamond in the rough, but now – as its first proper studio recording – it proves to be an absolute hit! Its great melodies and scorching vocals make this track a tough to crack, mid-paced anthem I just can listen to over and over again!
On the B-side you’ll find “Incoming”, a new track that has never been published before. It’s shorter, faster and even angrier than its musical companion on the flipside, making it a pulverizing street punk anthem to boot! Now only 300 copies of this powerful combination of tracks have been pressed, all on black vinyl and an absolute must if you love that British Columbian skinhead beat!
