Nine years it has been since The Daltonz’ last 12” - the “Place Saint Sauveur” EP – was released, but finally the lads from Normandy have returned and they’re back with a friggin’ bang! The line-up is slightly new, the sound is fresh to boot and though I love their old releases, “Hier, Demain, Maintenant” is easily the band’s best work to date!

 

Released on 12” vinyl, “Hier, Demain, Maintenant” features a total of eight tracks and – perhaps needless to say – they’re fairly brilliant! The Daltonz really reinvented their sound, making this mini-LP an exciting release for both fans of their previous work and new blood that might have never heard a single track of the band before! But whatever group you’re classified to, you’re in for a treat – that’s for sure!

 

Because straight from opener “Chanson D’élégance” The Daltonz grab you by the throat with an energetic, rip-roaring sound that is soaked in clean hooks, superb melodies and top notch French vocals – just the way I like it! But I don’t just like this release, I love it and altogether it literally blew me away with tracks like “Inadapté”, “Double Tamponné”, “Rive Droite”, “Sur Le Fil Du Rasoir” and “Ultime Raout” - what an album, what a comeback!

 

If you love your Oi! and punk in French, “Hier, Demain, Maintenant” is an absolute must. The band really outdone themselves on this mini-LP and it is undoubtedly one of my favorite releases of 2023 so far! The Daltonz are back, and how! Now buy it.
