Urban Savage - 4 Song E.P.

Savage Records / Foreign Legion Records

One of the more impressive debut albums of 2014 was without a doubt Urban Savage’s first effort “Let Thunder Roar”. ‘Unfortunately’ it just came in too late to be included in my list of favorites of last year, but if I had to do it all over this band would definitely sneak into it! Needless to say I was stoked to receive the band’s brand new “4 Song E.P.”, that has yet again been released by the band’s own Savage Records in Europe and on Foreign Legion Records (with an alternative ‘wolves’ cover) in the USA!

In short I described the sound on Urban Savage’s debut album “Let Thunder Roar” as a mix of Oi!, UK’82 and hardcore. On this new EP the band has developed their sound even further bringing you a mix of fast paced savagery (“Cop Riot”), urban anthems (“In Those Nights”, “Nothing’s Ever Given”) and a heavily bass and pounding drum influenced banger (“The End”). All covered with gritty vocals, crunchy guitars and a raw, vicious Scandinavian production that makes you hungry for more!

Within a short amount of time Urban Savage definitely grew out to be one of my favorites of new and upcoming European bands. Without a doubt year list material (this time they delivered perfectly on time), especially for those who are into similar (sounding) bands such as Criminal Damage, Concrete, Rixe, Hired Goons or NWOBHC fury slowed down a notch. Excellent release!
