V/A - The Stomp-I-Lation

Stupid Records

Last June Boston invaded the UK for a couple of days with a small weekend tour of Waste Management, Peacebreakers and The Boston Strangler. Sick line-up and I wish I could have been there... but I wasn’t, at least I got the souvenir that was originally sold during this tour in the form of “The Stomp-I-Lation” cassette, a dazzling compilation f...eaturing all new, demo and live tracks by three of Massachusetts’ most violent and maniacal hardcore bands out there these days!

First up are The Boston Strangler, their “Primitive” album still is an incredible record and ever since I am dying to hear new jams by this band. Last year we had the “Jokes On You” promo tape with three new songs and on “The Stomp-I-Lation” one of Boston’s finest are featured with, I am not joking around, seven new songs! Along with the “Jokes On You” tape we might have heard most, or perhaps all, songs of their upcoming record with these cassette releases, but even if that’s the case it will be one hell of a ride and I can’t wait to hear these tracks on vinyl!

Another Boston stronghold are Waste Management. Although these guys have been around for over seven years already they, unfortunately, only have a handful of cassette and EP releases under their name. Also on “The Stomp-I-Lation” the band is ‘just’ featured with three new songs while the five remaining tracks are re-recordings and covers that round it up to a total of eight... bone... crushin’... skull... bashin’... songs! It’s fast, it’s loud, it’s in your face, it’s Waste Management! Love this stuff.

Last, but certainly not least, is the latest sensation out of Massachusetts called The Peacebreakers. Last year this band released their debut EP “Every Day Battle” on Rock ‘n’ Roll Disgrace Records and it sold out faster than lightning! Now this label knows how to hype their bands, so selling your record out on this R’n’R Disgrace isn’t that hard, but they also release top quality productions which justifies it all. On “The Stomp-I-Lation” the band continues were they left off on “Every Day Battle” with two new tracks, a re-recording of “T.T.W.A.M.” and a live set that features absolutely none of the songs of their 7” but does contain all tracks of their 2012 self-titled demo.

You wish you had a tapedeck now, don’t you? And if you do, get this but check well before you purchase! Despite the fact that this was a “tour only” tape there are still quite a few floating around on the internet and prices vary a lot. So do your homework, get it for a fair price and start to stomp-i-late!
